Therapeutic Philosophy

When adverse experiences happen, we naturally adapt to feel comfortable and continue functioning. Sometimes those adaptations no longer work for us, and we feel unstable.

Getting to the root of distress is where we find the most relief long-term. I work with Clients to not only stabilize and ground in the present but also process the underlying layers of distress.

You can learn to listen to and feel safe in your body and your inner knowing. You can pause and adjust to feel more grounded in your authentic Self.

Art therapy is a mental health service that can be a very insightful part of your healing.

Art therapy is an option in individual sessions and also offered in group format.

The magic of art therapy is in the art process. I have witnessed with Clients and experienced myself how art can serve as a:

Art Therapy Groups & Workshops

  • This therapeutic art group offers an opportunity to create a deeper connection with yourself and embody your unique strengths. It involves a combination of guided imagery, breath work, bilateral tapping, and art-making with optional reflective writing in a safe and supportive environment.

    We will explore the concept of Self Energy, as defined by Dr. Richard Schwartz, the creator of IFS therapy (Internal Family Systems).

    At the end of 4 weeks, you will have 4 pieces of art representing each Self quality unique to you! These art pieces are something you can keep and reflect on to connect with your Self Energy.

    Art skills not required! :)

    Cost: $240 (includes art materials)

  • Have fun with your family and/or friends exploring mixed media creative process! This workshop is designed to promote fun, loose exploration and intuition rather than teaching a specific artistic technique. You will have an opportunity to experiment with both individual and collaborative art activities.

    Art materials may include: pencils, gel pens, markers, oil pastels, watercolor paints, watercolor pencils, acrylic paint pens, tempera paint sticks, tape, collage materials.

    Children welcome. Minimum of 1 parent or guardian must participate in workshop with minors. Consent forms required for each participant.

    Price of workshop is not dependent upon number of participants in your group.

    Limit 6 people per workshop

    $230 for 90 minute workshop

Art Therapy Groups & Workshops are formatted to be therapeutic and/or purely creative exploration.

Each person is required to complete participation forms prior to beginning a group, which will include basic background information.

Art Therapy Groups & Workshops are not psychotherapy.

SESSIONS & FEES

All rates are for individual sessions and apply to both in-person and telehealth services. Additional time possibly needed for EMDR and Art Therapy sessions. Art materials are provided for in-person sessions.

Inner Flow Counseling and Art Therapy, LLC is not in-network with insurance providers. Payment is due at time of service.

Superbills are available for Clients to submit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. It is the Client’s responsibility to verify reimbursement rate and file superbills.

Reduced fee available for Clients with financial hardship. Reduced-fee spots are limited.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have about scheduling and fees!

FAQ

  • No, it is not required, but highly recommended. The initial consult serves as a way for me to generally understand your therapeutic needs and consider if my skills and experience are appropriate. Ethically, I am obligated to only practice within my scope. If I feel your needs are outside of my scope I will provide appropriate referrals. The initial consult also offers an opportunity for you to assess fit.

  • This is something discussed with each Client at the initial intake, and is based on presenting issues, what the Client would like to achieve, and of course scheduling and finances.

  • Absolutely! We can alternate between the two and figure out what best suits your schedule. Or if you want to switch a scheduled session, that typically is not a problem. I just need a little heads up.

  • At this time, EMDR is only available via telehealth for Clients who have EMDR experience. I prefer to begin EMDR in-person until Clients are comfortable with it.

  • Yes! I am happy to offer evening sessions, which can be discussed during an initial consult and/or intake session.

  • At this time I only work with adults. I am happy to provide a referral for another art therapist who works with children and teens.

  • I do not have training in couples therapy and only work with individual adults. I can help individuals navigate relationship issues, and I am happy to provide referrals for a couples therapist.
